The things families ask before they call.
Straight answers on scope, cost, and how to start — no jargon, no pressure. If your question isn't here, call or text (310) 818-3217.
Is CarePali medical care?
No. CarePali is private, non-medical in-home care — the daily-living layer: bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, mobility, companionship, and safe transfers, with licensed RN clinical oversight behind the care plan. We don't provide skilled nursing, wound care, or medication administration. When someone needs those, we work alongside their home-health team and say so plainly.
Where do you provide care?
The Westside of Los Angeles and coastal Ventura — Santa Monica, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Bel Air, and the coastal Ventura communities. If you're just outside that footprint, reach out anyway and we'll tell you honestly whether we can serve you well.
What does it cost?
Care runs on a monthly retainer: the Steady Plan from $1,700/month (2–3 visits a week), the Continuity Plan from $2,800/month (4–5 days a week), and the Full Presence Plan starting at $10,000/month (near-daily or 24-hour). Final scope and pricing are confirmed after an in-home assessment. Everything is month-to-month — no lock-in.
Do I have to commit to a monthly plan to start?
No. The lowest-commitment way in is the 90-Minute Care Plan: Patrick spends ninety minutes in the home, then sends an RN-reviewed written care plan within three days. The plan is yours to keep and use however you like — including with another provider. There's no obligation to continue with us afterward.
Does Medicare or insurance pay for this?
CarePali is private-pay, non-medical care, so it isn't billed to Medicare — Medicare's home health benefit covers skilled, physician-ordered care, which is a different thing. Our blog walks through the distinction in plain language: see “Does Medicare Pay for Home Care?” and “Home Care or Home Health?”
Will it be the same caregiver each time?
Yes — that's the whole design. Every family is paired with a consistent caregiver who learns your routines, preferences, and name. When they're out, coverage comes from within our small team, never an outside fill-in, and you meet every member of the team within the first month.
Who is behind CarePali?
Patrick Mapile — founder and one of your caregivers. U.S. Navy veteran, RN-trained, finishing his LVN, CPR certified. CarePali LLC is California-registered and carries general and professional liability insurance; caregivers are LiveScan background-checked, and a licensed RN provides clinical oversight. What kinds of situations do you help with?
Common ones include dementia and memory loss, post-surgery recovery, and palliative and hospice support alongside a hospice team. If your situation isn't listed, ask — and if we're not the right fit, we'll point you to someone who is.
How do we get started?
Book a discovery call — a brief, thoughtful conversation, not a sales call. We listen, assess whether our model fits your situation, and lay out next steps with clarity. You can also call or text us at (310) 818-3217. We typically respond within a few hours.
Still deciding?
The lowest-commitment way to get something real is the 90-Minute Care Plan — an in-home visit and an RN-reviewed written plan that's yours to keep, whatever you decide next.
